Elegant Summer Wedding
One of the very best parts of flowering is getting to know people and be a part of the special moments in their lives. When Mary, Emily's Mom reached out about talking about wedding flowers, it was an immediate yes! Mary started buying flowers from us when we would sell at the Gardens at Unity Farmers Market.
We've come a long way since those days, though we still source as many locally grown blooms as possible.
Emily only had one inspiration photo to show me at her meeting. I asked lots of questions about what she liked about the photo and how she and Sean wanted their wedding day to feel like. We came up with soft hues of peaches and pinks with hints of soft yellows and touches of greens with lots of textural blooms to create a romantic, elegant summer wedding that was still FUN! Emily's bridal bouquet was packed full of lush blooms, the perfect sunset hues for the perfect June Kansas City wedding day!
Oakwood Country Club was the perfect backdrop for the reception. The beautiful Kansas City Wedding venue has so many historic features not to mention soaring ceilings and a great gold course.
We decided to do a mix of centerpieces to allow us to add height and interest. We designed the room with clean sight lines of tall florals atop gold stands, clusters of cylinders with floating candles, and then compote centerpieces in our signature garden-inspired style.
Many thanks to all of the wonderful vendors especially Kansas City photographer Angie Scott who we loved working with so much so that we had her shoot product photos for us!
